Our second AF Challenge for 2020 kicks off on 28 September, the perfect time to jump into the warmer months as the healthiest YOU possible!

    Lean AF

    This program is designed to burn calories, combining cardio and metabolic conditioning to get results. If your goal is fat loss, this is the program for you.

     

    Strong AF

    This program is designed to build muscle, using a combination of scientifically-backed training principles. If your goal is to increase both lean muscle mass and strength, this is the program for you.

     

    Athletic AF

    This program is designed to improve sports performance, focusing on cardio, strength, speed and agility. If your goal is to obtain a new level of performance, this is the program for you.

    Growing up surrounded by people you truly care about suffering from mental health illnesses and eating disorders has taken its toll. You realise that at times, you can be your own worst enemy. This is something that I have struggled with personally and I was determined to make a change.

    It was an arduous morning of dragging my sorry butt out of bed to the gym, nursing yet another unnecessary hangover, when I walked through the gym door and noticed an advertisement for the 8 Week Challenge. As I read it, one of the trainers pointed directly at me… “YES, DO IT!’’ she yelled. This challenge would be the thing that turned my life around. I knew it would push boundaries and the limits around my mental health, physical health, the relationship I had with alcohol and most importantly the relationship I had with myself. And I made my pledge to improve just that.

    The 8 Week Challenge has changed my life in extraordinary ways. As I followed the meal plans my eating habits shifted to extremely healthy ones, and food became a huge eye-opener in the way I trained and how I looked at alcohol, knowing it would inhibit how hard I was working to build lean muscle mass. Just as importantly, the challenge allowed me to break through the limiting beliefs I have held and I came out the happiest, healthiest, strongest and most confident I have ever been in my life. I am proud to say I no longer drink to escape, I have become the confident person I deserve to be, and I broke my vicious cycle of debilitating mental health. I am proud to be me.

    I have learnt more in the 8 weeks about myself and my physical and mental health than I have in the past 28 years and am ecstatic to see where this new-found lease on life will take me. Here’s to the next 8 weeks, and every week after that!

    Before starting the AF Challenge, I felt like I had lost complete control of my life. I used to enjoy keeping fit and healthy, but everything came crashing down in 2017 after a traumatic incident. This lead to a massive breakdown in my mental health and worsened when I had to move interstate for work, leaving behind my entire support network. I spiralled into depression and stopped caring about myself. All the healthy habits I had spent years establishing were obliterated, along with my self-esteem.

    When I finally hit my lowest point, I sought help. I had not been eating healthily or exercising. I’d gained weight and had no energy. I tried numerous times to return my life to some normality but was struggling to stay motivated. When I heard about the AF Challenge, I thought it would help me stay focussed on what I wanted to achieve. I was at first doubtful that I could stick with it but after week or two, I was loving it!

    I had a set meal plan that was full of recipes that were easy to make and delicious. I had to do a lot of meal prep to make sure that I had all my meals for when I was at work, but I found it a great motivator for developing a daily routine. The workouts were challenging but in a good way. I was using muscles that I forgot I had! I also loved that a lot of the workouts I could do from home as I don’t live near the gym.

    The transformation to my life is greater than any number on a scale. I have more energy, healthier habits with food, my skin is clearer, I sleep better, and I have regained some of the confidence that I sorely needed.
